This is the first edition of an impressive and moving oratorio for Holy Week based on the Stations of the Cross, including a 15th station (Resurrection). Just under one hour in duration. The text was written in Polish, to which an excellent alternate English text has been added, so that the oratorio can be sung in either language. The text is chosen from Biblical passages, to which have been added some references from the teaching of Pope John Paul II, and material from liturgical prayers. Composed in 1999 by one of Poland's renowned choral composers, this work is destined to become a standard in the choral repertoire. The musical language is only moderately difficult for the singers, even though it often employs the so-called 'Arabian scale'. An outstanding addition to the sacred repertoire. [66 p.
